I think this is a great idea and all, but how can the GH Online contest guys know whether the players are all really on the skill level for Medium difficulty. I mean all the Expert players could hop onto the lower difficulties and completely sweep the entire tournament, and that wouldn't be fair for the people who can't play that well. I guess what I'm saying is, can we be assured that people won't be playing on lower difficulties just so they can win everything?

These are not the droids you're looking for...

If someone is good then im sure they will be in the expert or hard tournaments, the top finisher in expert wins the trip. So i dont see why anyone would want to compete at a lower level

PLus it is a high score tournament, and expert provides the highest possible scores, and only the expert winner gets 'everything'.

Besides, the points score equate to charity donations, so even if you can't compete in a higher level...play the one that you can the highest score on.

I followed the link the gave and I see no "join" button.  I have never done tournaments so I may be an idiot.  It does say Invitation only though.  Am I missing something?

Fazel23 has it right.  The Starbright World Tournament is specifically for Starbright Children and their friends/family.  All non-Starbright Guitar Hero Community members must join the Guitar Hero Community Tournament.

Someone can play on expert, but not be competitive at all.  I have 9 songs completed on expert, but can barely even compete on Medium.  besides, it is a tournament, designed to identify the best player (just like others). You don't see the PGA Tour finding reasons to exclude Tiger because he is so much better

The Starlight Charity Challenge has come to an end.  A HUGE Thanks goes out to everyone who participated.  Thank you for rocking out and producing some great scores, and thanks for helping raise both donations and awareness for such a great cause.

We will review each of the final tournament results, and we will post the official winners by 10:00am EST on 5/6/2008.  At that time, a Guitar Hero Community Manager will be contacting each of the winners.  Official announcements will be made across all Starlight related threads.
